LASER TATTOO REMOVAL - POST CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Tattoo Frosting:

General Aftercare
​

Apply ice packs or cool compresses to reduce swelling and discomfort
-
Avoid direct sun exposure​

Use SPF 50+ sunscreen when outdoors
-
After 3 hours post treatment you can apply aloe vera gel
-
As treatments progress, a small amount of pinpoint bleeding (petechiae) may occur this is normal and caused by tiny superficial blood vessels breaking
-
Avoid saunas, steam rooms, and heat treatments for 72 hours
-
Wear loose-fitting clothing to prevent irritation and allow the skin to breathe
-
Stay hydrated – drink plenty of water to support healing
-
Do not pick, scratch, or pop any scabs or blisters – this can cause scarring or infection-please contact me if any blistered areas pop/the skin breaks!

You may apply a gentle, fragrance-free moisturiser or recommended healing ointment if the area feels dry or tight
-
Keep the area clean and dry – avoid soaking the area (e.g., baths, pools, hot tubs)

​Microblading (Eyebrow Tattoo) Removal

Avoid retinol products for 1 week post-treatment

Avoid eyebrow makeup until the skin is fully healed

Apply SPF 50 daily

The tattoo may appear bruised, with a grey or purple tint after treatment. This is temporary and typically fades within 7–12 days

Avoid Sun Exposure

Stay out of the sun for at least 2 weeks before and after treatment

Always wear SPF 50+ sunscreen if exposed to sunlight

Stay in the shade and wear a hat to protect the treated area

Avoid applying additional Heat to the area and do not take hot showers, baths, or use saunas or steam rooms for 72 hours post-treatment

General Aftercare​

Refrain from using perfumed products, deodorants, or any products containing acids (Retin-A, retinol, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, lactic acid, benzoyl peroxide, AHAs) for 3 days post-treatment

Apply a gentle, fragrance-free moisturiser or aloe vera gel with clean hands
-
Do not exfoliate the treated area for at least 3 days post-treatment
-
Wear loose-fitting clothing to minimise friction on the treated area​​

Apply a cool compress or ice pack to reduce redness and swelling for the first 24–48 hours
-
Do not pick or scratch the treated area to prevent infection and scarring
-
You may shave the treated area if necessary
-
Avoid waxing, plucking, or threading throughout your laser course
-
Drink plenty of water to support skin healing
-
Watch for any unusual signs such as excessive redness, swelling, or blistering Contact Lauren (your practitioner) if you have any concerns​​​​

The treated area may look slightly red and swollen, similar to a mild sunburn this usually subsides within a few hours to a couple of days
-
Hair follicles may temporarily darken as they are treated you may see small dark spots in the treated area
-
Treated hairs will begin to shed within 1–3 week this is a normal part of the process

Evening of your appointment:

Do not do any skincare:
-
Sleep with a clean pillowcase and keep your heat elevated for the first evening post treatment to prevent swelling. Ice may be used to reduce swelling. Swelling may typically last a few hours.

Drink plenty of water to support the healing process

General Aftercare/Downtime:

Expect 24 hours of downtime

Avoid using acids in your skincare regimen (e.g., Retin-A (Tretinoin), retinol, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, lactic acid, benzoyl peroxide, AHA) for 3–5 days post-treatment

Use gentle products for the first few days while the skin is most vulnerable ( brands such as CERAVE & AVENE are perfect )

Apply a moisturiser generously with clean hands. Reapply whenever your skin feels dry
-
Apply a cool compress if you experience redness or swelling. This will help soothe the skin and reduce discomfort.
-
Refrain from touching the treated area for the first 24 hours to avoid irritation or infection.

Avoid applying makeup to the treated area for the first 24 hours to allow the skin to breathe and heal properly.
-
Avoid direct sun exposure for at least 2 weeks after treatment to prevent post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH).
-
Stay in the shade, wear a hat, and apply BROAD-SPECTRUM SPF 50 or higher daily.
-
Avoid hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, or any extreme heat for 72 hours post-treatment.

​Skin healing & change:

Mild redness and swelling are normal and should subside within a few hours to a couple of days.

Dark spots or freckles may initially darken. This is a normal part of the treatment and will naturally slough off in about 7–10 days, do not pick!

MENDS (Minimal Epidermal Necrotic Deposits) – What You Need to Know
What are MENDS?

Small, dark coffee ground-like spots that form on the skin after Moxi laser treatment.

Caused by the laser breaking down pigmentation in the skin.
When do MENDS appear?

Typically appear 24 hours after treatment.

These spots are a natural part of the healing process.
What to do when MENDS appear?
-
Do not pick, scratch, or rub the MENDS spots. This can cause scarring or irritation.

Allow MENDS to naturally flake off within 7–10 days.
How to support the healing process?

Apply a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer to keep the skin hydrated.

Continue sun protection with SPF 50+ daily, especially after MENDS shed.
What happens after MENDS shed?

Once MENDS fall off, the skin should look clearer and even-toned, with reduced pigmentation.

After BBL and Moxi laser treatments, it's crucial to avoid sun exposure to protect the skin from further damage and ensure proper healing. Sun protection is essential, including using high SPF sunscreen, wearing protective clothing, and avoiding sunbathing for at least 2 months after the procedure.
